PIX11 News first detailed the incident, noting that the fire alarm at the elementary and middle school went off around 5:30 a.m. The FDNY dispatched roughly 60 firefighters and EMS personnel to the locale, subsequently managing to suppress the blaze shortly after 6:45 a.m., with no injuries reported by officials.
Further confirming the event, Patch.com reported that the fire began at 5:22 a.m. at the school, located at 223 West 132nd Street, nestled between Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard and Frederick Douglass Boulevard.
