Folks in Fort Collins have a reason to get involved and voice their ideas about their neighborhood park, specifically the upcoming renovations at the Rolland Moore Community Park. An open house is scheduled for April 24, where city officials are keen to gather community feedback regarding the tennis complex and playground improvements, as per the City of Fort Collins.
As part of the 2022 Parks Infrastructure Replacement Program Plan, these particular amenities were marked for upgrades, and with the backing of the 2050 Sales Tax Initiative passed by local voters in 2023, the required funds are now in place. The initiative channels money into enhancing parks, recreation, transit, and climate initiatives across the city, it's clear the Rolland Moore upgrades are seeing the early fruits of this tax investment, said David Hansen, Park Planning & Development Manager, as obtained by the City of Fort Collins, “The renovation of the tennis complex and playground is about more than just replacing old infrastructure – it’s an investment in the well-being of our community.”
For those looking to weigh in on what the future renovations should encompass, the open house on April 24 held at the Fort Collins Senior Center offers a prime opportunity. Interactive exercises to pin down community priorities and preferences will be peppered throughout the event, which runs from 5:30-7 p.m. and will even feature bilingual materials as well as on-site Spanish interpretation not to mention a children’s activity area. According to the City of Fort Collins news release, the goal is to engage as many residents as possible.
