Keep Fort Worth Beautiful's Trashion Fashion Show, part of the Cowtown Cleanup's Earth Party last month, found a runway lit by innovative designs made from trash and reused materials. The event attracted a large crowd, who witnessed 16 contestants parading their eco-conscious ensembles before an excited audience and a discerning panel of judges. Fashion crafted from every imaginable kind of refuse took center stage, highlighting creativity while pushing a potent environmental message.

Winning the applause of both onlookers and the judging panel, which consisted of board members and staff from Keep Fort Worth Beautiful, the contest's top spot was claimed by "Live, Laugh, Laundry," designed by Rayanna Hosokawa. Gleefully cheering for each contestant, the crowd was impressed by her use of dryer sheets to make a stunning outfit, as detailed by the City of Fort Worth's announcement.

Natalie Jaecks claimed the second-place prize with her "Midsommar Night’s Dream", turning discarded classroom printouts, sheet music, and VHS tapes into a uniquely bold statement. And it was the third place that went to "Quince Upcycle", an imaginative creation by Audie Pope and Alma Santillan, utilizing materials like a decade-old quinceañera hoop skirt and can tabs. Sohannah Mejia, Maria Mejia, and Genesis Mejia's "CD Nostalgia" design took fourth place, marrying CDs with plastic trash bags to create a reminder of beauty's presence even within discarded items.

The City of Fort Worth's Environmental Services Department, along with Keep Fort Worth Beautiful, leverages such initiatives to encourage residents to take action. According to their official site, they are encouraged to download the Fort Worth Garbage & Recycling App for improved waste management.
