The residents of Fountain Hills might want to perk up their ears, as the town has just dropped its Proposed Budget Book for Fiscal Year 2026. According to an official announcement on the Town of Fountain Hills website, the document, which is a bellwether for the municipality's financial outlook, is now open to public scrutiny. With a wallet ready to dish out $50.37 million across all funds, the emphasis on transparency is quite clear. For the neighbors keen on where the cash flow is directed, the General Fund is catching a cool $26.05 million of that money.
The town is investing in its future with about $12 million in the Capital Improvement Plan. Some key projects include replacing three ramadas in Fountain Park for $320,000, creating a new park and stargazing spot for $700,000, and making major street improvements like a $5.4 million upgrade to Palomino Blvd. They’re also spending $325,000 to fix incomplete sidewalks and $3 million to widen Shea Blvd to ease traffic, as reported by the Town of Fountain Hills.
This budget book serves as a testament to the town's ongoing dance with financial responsibility and strategic long-term moves. A snappy increase in wash maintenance funding – a hike from $275,000 to $450,000 – follows hot on the heels of Council debates and internal chin-wagging, revealing an eagerness to adapt and address practical concerns of the town's drainage systems when faced with mother nature's curveballs, as per the Town of Fountain Hills.
Next up, the Town Council will review the budget at a workshop on April 8, 2025. Residents are encouraged to check out the proposed budget online and share any questions or concerns with Mike Pelton, the Community Relations Director, at [email protected] before the workshop.
