City parks will soon be filled with the smooth sounds of saxophones and the vibrant rhythms of drums, as free jazz concerts make their way into public spaces. Dallas Live in the Park Music Series is set to begin its melodious offerings tomorrow at Kiest Park, with the Community All Star Band and renowned saxophonist Tom Braxton, according to the City of Dallas.
The inaugural event will open at 6 p.m., offering residents an evening of entertainment without a price tag. The following concerts will feature an array of jazz talents, including Carolyn Lee Jones, Len Barnett, and The Rob Holbert Group, transforming monthly park visits into a cultural experience through September. Event details and artist lineups can be found by searching for Dallas Live Music Series on Eventbrite.com.
These musical interludes are part of a broader initiative to enrich community life in Dallas. In a move that highlights the importance of accessible cultural events, the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture, in partnership with the Park and Recreation Department, conceived Dallas Live in the Park to stitch together the fabric of the city through shared musical journeys.
