
On Monday, Governor Greg Abbott announced the appointment of Ben Proler, Alithea Z. Sullivan, and incumbent Lauren Gore to the Texas Southern University Board of Regents. Their terms will last until February 1, 2031, pending Senate confirmation, according to the Office of the Texas Governor.
Proler has a background in both military and corporate sectors. He is currently a commercial manager at Shell plc and serves as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy Reserve. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and has completed Joint Professional Military Education at the Naval War College. Proler is also working towards completing a Master of Business Administration at Rice University, as reported by the Office of the Texas Governor.
Sullivan is a partner at Stone Hilton PLLC with a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Germanic Languages and Literatures from Harvard University. She was a forum editor for the Harvard Law Review and a member of the Harvard Black Law Students Association. Gore is a reappointed member with experience as an attorney at Baker Botts L.L.P. and as a U.S. Army Infantry Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, and is involved in various educational and veterans' organizations, as stated by the Office of the Texas Governor.
