Previously considered to be armed and dangerous, Amon's apprehension ended a stretch where the authorities had issued a public advisory pleading for assistance in capturing him after several warrants were issued, not forgetting in cases Amon had yet to be questioned, the public had been advised to avoid direct engagement and tipsters informed that aiding or abetting could lead to legal consequences as Hoodline previously documented.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old Kaleo Mello of Nā‘ālehu was the second to be arrested following a media release by Hawai'i Police that called for public assistance in locating Mello, resulting in his capture at a residence in the Green Sands subdivision; he is charged with first-degree burglary and other offenses and his bail is set at $3,000, his court appearance is scheduled shortly after his capture, the efforts by the public to assist law enforcement were gratefully acknowledged by the Hawai'i Police Department in aiding these apprehensions.
