Yesterday morning, the Hickory Fire Department was called to a blaze at a residence on 14th Street SE. According to a report published by the City of Hickory, the fire was already in full swing, with smoke and intense flames engulfing the attic upon the first responders' arrival.
The intensity of the fire prompted response from three engines, two ladders, a rescue truck, and two command units from the Hickory Fire Department. Supporting the firefighting effort, Catawba County EMS and Hickory Police were also at the scene, their presence testament to the gravity of the situation.
As the teams worked to extinguish the fire, it was confirmed that all individuals inside had evacuated safely. Thanks to the rapid response and coordinated efforts, no injuries were reported amidst the incident.
