More than 300 children ages four to eight from across Hawai‘i Island participated in the third annual Hawai‘i Island Police Activities League Coach-Pitch/T-Ball baseball tournament at Hualani Park. A total of 21 youth teams competed in the event, according to the Hawai‘i Police Department.

A youth baseball tournament was held in Hilo on April 5 and 6, hosted by the Hawai‘i Police Department, Hawai‘i Island Police Activities League, and the Mynah Byrdz Baseball Team. The event included 8 T-Ball teams and 12 Coach-Pitch teams. The Lincoln Wreckers Black won the Coach-Pitch Gold Bracket, and the Andrews Braves won the Coach-Pitch Silver Bracket. Hawai‘i Island Police Activities League booths provided Keiki IDs, baseballs, and medals during the event.

HILO, Hawai‘i – Officers Jared Cabatu and Michael Rutkowski of the Hawai‘i Police Department’s Hilo Patrol assisted with a recent little league tournament organized through the Hawai‘i Island Police Activities League program. The event, supported by volunteers and community officers, is part of an initiative that uses sports to engage youth and promote teamwork, citizenship, and responsibility.
