Two individuals were apprehended in Iredell County following a sheriff's office operation that intercepted a shipment of crystal methamphetamine from California. The arrests occurred after deputies surveilled and carried out a search at a Harmony residence, where they discovered a "large quantity" of the drug, as per a WBTV report.
In the sting operation, which began last Monday after law enforcement got wind of a suspicious parcel, Lander Herbert Bustle III and Darran Deshawn Lyons were arrested on charges related to drug trafficking and possession, QC News reported. Bustle, 48, received a hefty $1 million bond for trafficking and conspiracy, while Lyons, 39, faced a $100,000 bond on a felony possession charge. Deputies observed the package being delivered last Wednesday and Bustle retrieving it. Authorities later discovered approximately three pounds of meth, with an estimated street value of $137,300, in the package during their search.
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office described the subsequent events, stating that upon executing the search warrant they discovered Bustle, Lyons, and an unnamed woman at the scene, with Lyons in possession of around 24 grams of the substance, Iredell Free News relayed. In addition, officers also found a small quantity of marijuana and a firearm.
Sheriff Darren Campbell praised his team's tireless dedication following the arrests, “This case is a direct result of the dedication and relentless efforts of our narcotics and criminal investigations teams,” he acclaimed, reaffirming his message to lawbreakers that Iredell County is no haven for narcotic operations, Bustle and Lyons, as a clear testament to this, now face their charges as Iredell County endeavors to uphold its stance against the sale of narcotics.
