Jaja Mani was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of the murders of Emmanuel and Nancy MacDonal in East Memphis. He was also convicted of Attempted First Degree Murder. Mani attempted to intimidate the MacDonals to stop them from participating in a court case about the shooting of their son, Emmanuel Jr., involving Kevin Gomez. On November 12, 2020, the MacDonals were found dead near their Ford Explorer, according to the Shelby County District Attorney.
Mani has been convicted in connection with a violent crime, with extensive evidence presented, including documents and video recordings linking him to the incident. Although he did not pull the trigger, he was involved in the crime. Emmanuel Jr. was found critically injured in the vehicle but survived the attack, as reported by the Shelby County District Attorney.
"We are pleased that the jury returned guilty verdicts to give justice to Emmanuel Jr. and the justice obtained for the death of his parents," said Assistant District Attorney Steve Raglan. Mani was sentenced to life in prison for the murders. He will also be sentenced for an Attempted First Degree Murder charge on May 16, which could extend his time in custody, as stated by the Shelby County District Attorney.
