The City of Goodyear has welcomed Jasmine Pernicano as its new City Clerk, marking the beginning of her tenure in a role preceded by four years of service within the city's bureaucratic circles. Ascending from Deputy City Clerk to Acting City Clerk and now to the helm, Pernicano brings to the table a notable resume filled with experience in municipal government. According to the City of Goodyear official announcement, her journey through the civic realm spans San Diego County where she spearheaded electoral procedures and records management among other responsibilities.
In a statement that was fraught with anticipation, Pernicano expressed her sentiments, "I am humbled and excited for the opportunity to lead an amazing team," additionally committing herself to be a part of Goodyear’s evolving narrative. Not just aiming to steer the ship, but also to "lead process improvements that enhance customer service, foster transparency and increase access to information" – an outlook that reflects her focus on systemic betterment and community engagement, as stated by the City of Goodyear.
Holding titles such as a Master Municipal Clerk, a certification recognized by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, and a Certified Election Official through the State of Arizona, Pernicano's credentials are beyond question. An active force within the Arizona Municipal Clerks' Association (AMCA), her involvement is multifaceted.
