A Jenison man, 65, was airlifted with severe injuries following a collision in Olive Township yesteday morning. As reported by WOODTV, the incident occurred near the Port Sheldon Street close to 100th Avenue, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash unfolded around 7:50 a.m. when the man was exiting his driveway and his car was struck by another vehicle driven by a 32-year-old Jenison woman, both drivers hailing from the same town, the man was then airlifted due to the critical nature of his injuries, while the woman sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and was also sent to the hospital, according to WZZM 13.
Following the collision, emergency responders closed a portion of Port Sheldon Street to carry out their investigation, a standard procedure in such circumstances, as MLive reported. At this point, the authorities have not provided further details on the dynamics of the crash or whether any contributing factors have been identified.
