Lincoln County has officially found their new Assistant County Manager, Clay Henley, who is stepping into the role with a track record of public service and a legal backdrop to his diverse career. The update was given yesterday as Lincoln County Manager Davin W. Madden announced Henley's appointment, and the details were shared via a county press release.
Henley's roots run deep in nearby Cherryville, where he's spent much of his life, his journey in local governance is set to change course as he brings over a decade of experience to Lincoln County's growing administrative needs. Having attended the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University, followed by a master’s degree in public administration from Appalachian State University, Henley has been geared up for this, his involvement as an attorney at the Gaston County Department of Social Services has notably been cited as a period where he advocated for the less-fortunate rigors that profession entails,
In his own words obtained by Lincoln County's press release, Henley shared, “My skills inside and outside the courtroom have served me well. While I will no longer be fighting for justice in the courtroom, I will work to strengthen the County’s programs and to support all its residents as Assistant County Manager. I am excited to be a part of this community and appreciate the opportunity to serve.”
