A concrete truck accident in Loudon County has left the driver injured and occasioned the temporary closure of Fork Creek Road. The incident, which saw a gamut of emergency responders at the scene, prompted an hours-long road closure between Steekee Creek Road and Stallcup Road. According to the WVLT report, the Loudon County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) announced that the injured driver had been transported to a nearby hospital following the crash that happened last night.
With emergency services responding, including LCSO, Loudon County Fire and Rescue, the Philadelphia Fire Department, Priority Ambulance Service, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the truck's upending led to an extensive investigation and cleanup. Following the mishap, LCSO indicated, as per the WBIR report, that the road closure was expected to remain in effect for an extended period.
However, citizens were later updated via social media that the once impassable Fork Creek Road was back in service. The sheriff's office had previously detailed, in the aftermath of the accident that saw first responders unite in action, that no other vehicles were involved in the crash, necessitating the road's closure at the 17000 block.
Residents and commuters were forced to seek alternate routes for several hours, with Fork Creek Road's sudden closure interrupting the evening's flow. The collective efforts of the emergency personnel ultimately mitigated the situation, bringing the roadway back to operational status in a swift manner. It is testimony to the coordinated response that's been fine-tuned for such emergency scenarios, as noted in the Loudon County Sheriff's Office's social media post.
