In an effort typically masked by steamed milk and morning rushes the Mansfield Police Department is stirring up more than just coffee this April. Partnering with Alliance For Children, the department utilizes an everyday staple, the coffee cup sleeve, to spread a message against child abuse, as announced in a social media post by the department. This initiative, part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, finds two local businesses, MaryLou's Coffee and Sandwich Shoppe, and Flying Squirrel Coffee Company, as their partners in this community-conscious cause.
The campaign might seem simple, but its implications are deep. Custom coffee cup sleeves in these local outlets carry the stark reminder that "every child deserves to feel safe, loved, and heard." It's a call to action for the community, encouraging individuals who witness unsettling situations to "see something, say something." The Mansfield Police Department believes that this low-key but powerful tool can ignite conversations and, perhaps, encourage interventions that will safeguard the young souls of their community.
Such partnerships between law enforcement and local businesses are pivotal in raising awareness and fostering an environment where community members feel responsible for each other's well-being.
