Antonio McClelland, the 52-year-old man wanted for first-degree murder in Memphis, has been apprehended across state lines. According to a press release by the U.S. Marshals Service, McClelland was arrested on Tuesday in Southaven, Mississippi, by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. The arrest comes after a meticulous investigation following the March 6 discovery of Jimmy L. Walker, shot in his Memphis apartment.

The Memphis Police Department identified McClelland as a suspect in the killing after Walker was pronounced dead at a local hospital due to his gunshot wounds. A warrant for McClelland’s arrest was issued on March 11.

It wasn't until over a month later that the U.S. Marshals’ Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force (TRVFTF), in coordination with the Gulf Coast task force, located McClelland in the backyard of an address on the 2100 block of Holbrook Cove. McClelland's capture was achieved "without incident," as per the U.S. Marshals press release. McClelland now awaits extradition back to Tennessee, held at the DeSoto County, Mississippi, Detention Facility.
