Milwaukeeans in need of a professional license can kiss goodbye to paper applications and in-person submissions. The City of Milwaukee License Division has launched an online platform that allows individuals to apply for, renew, and manage licenses with the click of a button. The official announcement, accessed at the city's official website, indicates the shift towards a more user-friendly, 24/7 service.

Whether you're shaking cocktails or driving the public around, the list of individual licenses now available includes Class “D” Operator (Bartender), Temporary Class “D” Operator, Class “B” Manager, Public Passenger Vehicle Driver, Home Improvement Salesperson, Ice Cream Peddler, and Mobile Seller’s License. Alderperson JoCasta Zamarripa, chair of the Licenses Committee, underlined the convenience offered by the new system. “This change will help save each customer’s time and energy, allowing them to complete applications at their own pace and from the comfort of their home,” she said, as per the city's official announcement.

License Division Manager Jim Cooney praised the city Information Technology Management Division for their role in realizing the project. He indicated that going digital aligns with broader efforts to provide a more seamless service experience. “I am especially grateful to the staff of the city Information Technology Management Division for their support in bringing this project to completion, and I look forward to continued collaboration as we advance the broader Accela Business License initiative,” stated Mr. Cooney, as reported by the City of Milwaukee. The transition away from paper forms isn't just about convenience; it's also a cost-saving measure.

For locals, this means no more waiting in lines or racing to meet office hours. With just a smart device or computer and internet access, they can now handle professional licensing online. It’s a clear step into the digital age for Milwaukee, making it easier for residents to interact with the city. For those tired of the old paperwork process, this is a much-needed change.
