The Jacksonville community received confirmation from the Sheriff's Office about the safe return of missing local woman, Ateasha S. Edwards. The 33-year-old, who has autism and cognitive impairments, was the subject of an intensive search after she was reported missing earlier this week. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office social media post expressed gratitude, saying, "UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that Ms. Edwards has been found safe. Thanks to all who shared!"
Jacksonville residents were urged to assist in the search for Ms. Edwards, particularly those living near Lane Avenue North, where she had been reported missing. Patrol officers and the Missing Persons Unit worked together to locate her. The Sheriff's Office requested the public to review home surveillance footage, vehicles, and properties for any clues regarding her whereabouts.
Ms. Edwards, who was last seen wearing blue pants, a blue satin bonnet, a pink shirt with black print, and black flat shoes, is described as 5'2" tall, weighing 180 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair. Descriptions of her clothing and physical appearance have been circulated to assist in locating her.
