Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe has hit the ground running in his first trimester in office, clocking in at 100 days of what his administration describes as "decisive leadership" and "meaningful progress." The Governor, inaugurated on January 13, has apparently wasted no time advancing a conservative agenda that aims to reinforce public safety and push economic growth.
According to an official press release from the Governor's Office, Kehoe's tenure has so far included the implementation of policies aimed at bolstering K–12 education and streamlining state government operations. The governor’s early actions include signing bills designed to support law enforcement in combating crime and illegal immigration, as well as ensuring that Missouri generates affordable power.
The executive actions taken by the Governor kicked off with six executive orders, among them initiatives to battle illegal immigration, support Missouri law enforcement, and eliminate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs in state agencies. "As we reach this milestone of 100 days in the Governor's Office, I am humbled by and proud of the progress we’ve made in a short time," Governor Kehoe said. "Our focus remains on delivering practical, commonsense solutions that improve the lives of Missourians across our state—and we’re just getting started," as per the press release from the Governor's Office.
Legislatively, Governor Kehoe has notched several wins in partnership with the General Assembly, such as the enactment of House Bill 495 and Senate Bill 4. The state's budget for Fiscal Year 2025 was approved, which continues state operations while fortifying services in education, special needs, and senior care, amongst others. Nearly 100 gubernatorial appointments have also been made, signaling Kehoe's interest in experienced leadership and efficient governance.
Missouri's course, as set by Governor Kehoe, traces a line through accountability, opportunity, and service.
