The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles is on the hunt for a new contractor to run a license plate agency in Roxboro, as announced in a recent call for applications. Roxboro's current license plate agency, which has been overseen by James Nelson through Roxboro DMV Tag Office, Inc. since 2010, sits comfortably at 811 N. Madison Blvd.; however, its contract is set to lapse on September 30, necessitating this search.
Private businesses and local governments often step up to manage these LPAs, under the watchful eye of the NCDMV. This standard procedure, as described on the NCDOT's official press release, swings into action either after an existing contract runs its course, draws to a close, or when there's a clear need for a fresh or additional agency in the area.
Those with their eyes on the prize have until April 14 to submit their applications. The forms – Form MVR-93I, Form MVR-93B, or Form MVR-93M – lurk ready for completion on the Connect NCDOT website. For the curious or the confused, there's a lifeline in the form of a phone call to 919-615-8521. It's a modern world, and as such, all applications will need to be sent through electronically via email to [email protected], leaving no room for mail-in applications to join the fray.
