
A road rage incident culminated in gunfire on Friday morning in the parking lot of a Canton Walmart, as per reports from the Canton Public Safety Department. CBS News Detroit detailed that officers arrived at the scene at 45555 Michigan Avenue after a 911 call at 8:27 a.m. detailing shots fired; there were no injuries, and officials assured the community that there was no ongoing threat to public safety following the arrest of a 29-year-old Van Buren Township man.
Police on the scene quickly managed to locate both individuals involved in the dispute and the ensuing shooting, quickly following the call for service this occurred, and while an arrest was made the name of the suspect was not immediately disclosed according to the information shared by WWJ Newsradio, the incident is believed to have started as an argument escalated dangerously over road conduct issues.
Fox 2 Detroit reported that the 29-year-old Van Buren Township man was arrested by the Canton Police, ensuring there was no additional risk to the public; with an ongoing investigation under progress, the details surrounding the nature of the road rage argument that led to the shots being fired are still being unearthed.
