The congregation invited the firefighters for a special ceremony ahead of their service, marking the 30th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing. A member of the church took it upon themselves to create a commemorative plaque, which was then presented to the firefighters as a token of remembrance and gratitude.
Station 25, bearing witness to the shared history and enduring resilience of the community, has a particular connection with the city's collective memory of tragedy. The Oklahoma City Fire Department's Facebook page noted, "We often talk about “community” in our posts—and this is exactly what we mean. Survivors, family members of victims, and city residents have all come together to pay homage to the 168 lives lost in the domestic terrorist attack that shook the nation three decades ago. The Oklahoma City Fire Department further expressed their appreciation for the congregation's kindness, saying, "Thank you, Trinity Lutheran Church, for your kindness and remembrance."
