The Oklahoma City Police Department has launched two online systems: one for reporting certain crimes and another for submitting feedback about police employees. The Online Police Report System allows residents to report non-urgent crimes like theft or harassment without needing an officer's presence. Reports for crimes outside city limits, anonymous reports, or those not meeting criteria may be rejected. Chief Ron Bacy stated, "The online reporting systems provide our community with greater access to on-demand crime reporting and an additional way for residents to report interactions with department employees – whether positive or negative," according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.
Residents filing an online police report receive a tracking number by email. A follow-up email will confirm if the report is accepted, needs more information, or is rejected. Approved reports provide an Incident Report Number to track the case. Those unable to use the English system should call 911. Spanish and Vietnamese language options are planned but not yet available, as reported by the Oklahoma City Police Department.
The Oklahoma City Police Department has introduced an online system for reporting crimes, as well as submitting compliments or complaints about employees. The system allows for anonymous feedback and the attachment of evidence such as videos, photos, and audio. The new form is available on the Oklahoma City Police Department Contact Us page. Chief Bacy stated, "Feedback on interactions with OKCPD employees is crucial in our efforts to continuously improve our communication and service to our community." This initiative is part of the Oklahoma City Public Safety Partnership's Recommendation 17, aimed at improving law enforcement policies.
