A fatal incident unfolded in the Aloha neighborhood early Wednesday morning, as a three-vehicle collision resulted in the death of one individual and closed a segment of Southwest Farmington Road, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. The area between Southwest 185th Avenue and 198th Avenue was sealed off for an interlude following the accident but was reopened around 7 a.m.
The investigation found that Rene Jones, a 62-year-old resident of Forest Grove, was operating a 2003 Mazda when he deviated from his westbound lane on SW Farmington Road, culminating in a direct collision with an oncoming Nissan that was traveling eastbound, information sourced from the KPTV report stated the driver of the Nissan was transported to the hospital with injuries deemed not life-threatening; however, Jones was declared deceased at the scene.
In addition to the two cars, a pickup truck was involved in the mishap, though details regarding its involvement or any potential occupants' condition have not been released, as was articulated by Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue's spokesperson in a statement obtained by KATU.
