Great Falls, a community in Chester County, was rocked by violence this past weekend after two separate shooting incidents left one person dead and two injured. According to QC News, the shootings occurred on Saturday night near McClinton and Ridgeway Roads, not far from the Fairfield, Chester County line. Responding to the distressing scenes, one situated steps from Bertha's Tobacco Depot, the Chester County Sheriff's Office promptly launched an investigation into these tragic events.
As law enforcement worked to piece together the details, the nearby Highway 21 was temporarily closed between Old Winnsboro Road, and Highway 200 during the investigation process. WSOCTV reports that with some assistance from CMPD, the suspect allegedly involved in the gunfire was apprehended in the Charlotte area late on Saturday night. This led to the reopening of the highway and provided the community a modicum of closure amidst the chaos.
The identity and motive of the suspect have not been disclosed at this time as the case is ongoing. WBTV noted that the individual believed to be linked to the aforementioned violent acts was located in the Charlotte area, bringing an end to the immediate threat to public safety.
