
Hawaiian Telcom will begin a network upgrade project in Papakōlea on Hawaiʻi Island from April 14 to April 30. The work will focus on improving telecommunications infrastructure in the area, according to the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands.
Hawaiian Telcom crews will be working weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays, to install fiber optic cables. The affected streets are the 2200 and 2300 blocks of Kapahu St, the 2000 block of Haʻalelea Pl, the 2200 block of Anianikū St, and the 2000 blocks of Kamalalehua Pl and Pūowaina Dr. Motorists should follow traffic signs and control measures for safety, as reported by the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands.
Residents of the affected blocks are advised of parking restrictions during working hours. "Illegally parked vehicles will be towed, if necessary, at the owner’s expense," the contractor states.
