
The Pennsylvania State Police and Lancaster County Coroner's Office are seeking assistance from the public in identifying human remains tied to a decades-old cold case. According to CBS News Pittsburgh, the remains found in 1986 on Weise Island in the Susquehanna River are thought to belong to an African American man, speculated to be between the ages of 20 and 40, about 6-foot-1 in height, and weighing roughly 190 pounds at the time of death.
State police detailed the items found with the remains, sharing images of size 11.5 New Balance sneakers, a Levi Strauss belt, and the blue jeans that accompanied the unidentified man. Officials urge anyone who may have lost contact with an individual matching this description from the era in question or who might possess related information to contact Deputy Coroner Richard Graff or Trooper Brian McNally from the PSP Lancaster Station.
