Following this, at 12 p.m., she was slated to speak quickly at the 39th Annual Madam CJ Walker Awards Luncheon. Hosted by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, the luncheon celebrates Black women who have notably excelled in areas such as health, education, economic empowerment, political awareness, and community outreach in the Delaware Valley Area. This year's event took place at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel, located at 201 N. 17th St.
The weekend's events continued today when Mayor Parker was scheduled to participate in the first Annual Philadelphia Police Autism Town Hall. The town hall, set for 12:30 p.m., was an initiative of the Philadelphia Police Department in collaboration with the Center for Autism Research at CHOP. It aims to bridge the gap between local law enforcement agencies and the Autism community. The focus remains to educate, learn, and importantly, to connect for the advancing safety and dynamics of Philadelphia communities, taking place at 101-199 E. Erie Ave.
