Philadelphia police are reaching out to the public for assistance in tracking down two suspects connected to a recent robbery in the city's 9th District. According to a Philadelphia Police Department bulletin, the incident occurred last Thursday, when a 33-year-old male was walking at around 2:15 a.m. and was confronted by two unknown individuals who forcefully took $400 from him.
The altercation, which took place on the 100 block of Church Street, left the victim with an injury. "He was approached from behind by two unknown black males who asked him for money," the report by Philadelphia Police Department states. The refusal to comply escalated to a demand, and a struggle ensued, resulting in a laceration to the victim's left thumb. The assailants subsequently escaped on foot in a westerly direction along Church Street.
Authorities have provided descriptions for the suspects. Suspect #1 is identified as a Black male seen wearing a gray knit hat, black jacket, and blue jeans. Suspect #2 is also a Black male and was last seen wearing a dark knit hat, a red jacket, and dark sweatpants. A video of the suspects is available through the official Philadelphia Police YouTube channel, although it contains no audio accompaniment.
The police have emphasized caution, urging anyone who spots the suspects not to approach them but to contact 911 immediately.
