Parents and their young ones have a fantastic opportunity to embrace the changing season with a day of garden-themed entertainment and education as Pierce County invites families to a free event focused on children's early learning. Set to take place on Saturday, May 10, from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Lakewood Community Center, the "spring into fun" activity day is part of an initiative by the Pierce County Interagency Coordinating Council (ICC) to support the developmental needs of children from birth to age 5, featuring activities that range from sensory play to story time designed to engage and cultivate the growth of young minds.

Activities tailored for all ability levels will allow kids to dive into crafts, partake in gross and fine motor games, and connect with tales during story time. This event opens up a world of exploration in a supportive environment. As an added support for families who may face language barriers, Spanish and ASL interpreters will be on site, securing an atmosphere where everyone is welcome and can partake in the fun and learning seamlessly. As Brayde Willson, Pierce County Early Support Services Supervisor, highlighted, "Every child deserves the chance to thrive, and this event is a great way to celebrate early development while connecting families to the many local resources available to support them," he told Pierce County.

The gathering aims not only to entertain but to inform, providing parents and guardians with the opportunity to connect with local organizations offering resources and services for children, an effort beyond the Early Support for Infants and Toddlers program. No registration is needed for families attending this inclusive celebration of spring and childhood development.
