Pink's Hot Dogs prepares to unleash its flavors at a new location located within the Los Angeles Zoo. The iconic eatery, a fixture in LA's culinary scene since 1939, will expand its territory to the heart of the zoo alongside the newly minted Cape Vulture Plaza starting this Friday, as reported by NBC Los Angeles.
Visitors craving a taste of Pink's acclaimed hot dogs – from the classic Pink’s Famous Chili Dog to the culturally vibrant Guadalajara Dog – will not be disappointed, as the new outpost is set to offer these fan-favorite menu items. Patrons can even feast on a celebrity homage, the Betty White Dog, honoring the comedienne's affection for the city's zoo. The marriage of these two LA stalwarts was summed up by the zoo's CEO Denise Verret, who told NBC Los Angeles, "The Los Angeles Zoo and Pink’s Hot Dogs are both deeply rooted in Los Angeles’ history and culture, and this partnership is one that I believe every Angeleno will enjoy."
Reinforcing its commitment to the community, Pink's Hot Dogs selects its outposts with diligent care. "Pink’s Hot Dogs does not open locations just anywhere. The LA Zoo is a treasured institution in the Los Angeles community, and the marriage of our two brands is a perfect fit," Richard Pink, co-owner of Pink's Hot Dogs, explained in his affirmation of the brand's selective expansion strategy.
The Los Angeles Zoo trumpeted the arrival of its newest culinary attraction with a pun-laden promise on Instagram: patrons will "RELISH this exciting addition to the L.A. Zoo!" They coupled the announcement with a nod to Pink's enduring legacy, having been an L.A. favorite for over 85 years. According to their Instagram post, starting this Friday, zoo visitors can get their chili dog fix amidst exotic wildlife and family-friendly fun.
