Lloyd Orth, 59, from Rice, MN, lost control of his ATV, causing it to roll and ultimately land on top of him, according to the sheriff's office report published on April 7th.
The incident, which occurred on April 5th around 8:29 pm, drew a rapid response from local emergency services; Pierz Fire Department, Pierz First Response Team, North Air Care, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance all converged on the site a mile southwest of Pierz, MN, to attend to Orth who fortunately was wearing a helmet when the mishap took place, this fortunate choice could have made a vital difference in the outcome his situation, given the severity of the accident. The injured man was subsequently airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.
