
A road rage incident escalated into violence in the Ridgeview/Webster neighborhood of San Diego yesterday, leaving one man hospitalized and another in custody. San Diego Police Department reports that the confrontation began as a verbal altercation on Euclid Avenue and culminated in a stabbing at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Federal Boulevard.
According to the SDPD Watch Commander's Log, the incident occurred around 12:40 PM. It involved a 22-year-old male and a 68-year-old male, who had been in a vehicular dispute traveling southbound on 1700 Euclid Avenue. When the vehicles stopped at the intersection, the younger man began vandalizing the older man's vehicle. The older individual, in response, produced a 6-inch knife, leading to a physical altercation during which the younger man disarmed and stabbed the elder approximately 10 times.
The victim, 68, was transported to a local hospital to treat life-threatening injuries but has since been reported in stable condition. The suspect, 22, fled the scene but was later apprehended by police at Euclid Avenue and Groveland Street. He is being held for attempted murder, as detailed by Officer J. Perales, the watch commander in charge of the log.
