
Residents of a San José fourplex were met with a frightening scene last evening as a fire broke out on the 800 block of E Julian St. According to a social media post from the San José Fire Department, the fire started at approximately 7:20 p.m. Firefighters managed to get the blaze under control by 7:51 p.m., ensuring that all floors were clear. Notably, they also managed to rescue one dog from the flames.

The hardworking firefighters were able to fully contain the fire by 8:50pm. The incident's aftermath left one unit with significant smoke and fire damage, while the other three sustained smoke damage. Efforts to make the area safe included shutting off utilities to the building.
The San José Fire Department's swift response ensured the safety of the residents, but despite their efforts, seven individuals and their pets were left in need of shelter. To assist, the Red Cross has been engaged to support the displaced residents, two dogs, and one cat.
