Following up on a robbery turned homicide in March, Orlando police have made a second arrest. The victim, Luis G. Vicente-Martinez, 59, was found shot dead in his van on Curry Ford Road. The early hours of March 15 revealed this tragic scene, and since then, the local community and the Vicente-Martinez family have been grappling with the aftermath.
Identified as the alleged shooter, Gabriel Joel Bruno De Leon evaded initial capture by fleeing to Puerto Rico. However, on April 11, a collaboration between the U.S. Marshals Service, Homeland Security, and the San Juan Extradition Unit led to his arrest. FOX 35 Orlando reported that De Leon faces charges including first-degree murder with a firearm, robbery with a firearm, and second-degree grand theft.
The Orlando Police Department announced yesterday the arrest of the second suspect, Ibanys Oliver, 43, accusing him of being the driver of the getaway vehicle. Charged with accessory after the fact to a capital felony, Oliver's alleged complicity points to a premeditated crime, which has now brought two men into the custody of law enforcement. WFTV details that Oliver was charged yesterday for his role in the crime.
