Members of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office showed up in collective support for women's achievements, gathering at the Women's Foundation of Greater Memphis’ 30th annual tribute luncheon. This event, noted for its significance in celebrating female progress, took place yesterday at the Renasant Convention Center located in downtown Memphis.
Among the deputies, representing various divisions, Chief Deputy Anthony Buckner led the esteemed group. The officials in attendance, according to the Sheriff’s Office's Facebook post, included notables such as Captain Nikki Masters and Jail Assistant Dora Benn, among others. Commitment to public service and community empowerment were promising threads that tied these individuals together in acknowledgment of the momentous occasion.
It was an assemblage of various ranks and roles – Assistant Chief Dallas Lavergne, Captain Alisa Styles, and Heidi Bradshaw stood alongside Jail Assistant Chief Takietha Tuggle, Chief Inspector Carla Allen, and Jail Chief Inspector Kimberly Lee.
The luncheon served as a nexus for conversations on gender equity, with participants like Tracy Brown, Debra Fessenden, and Adrienne Dailey-Evans sharing insights into their professional experiences. Lieutenant Kristan Holst, joined by Captain Faith Hill, Jail Chief Inspector Tabatha Anderson, and Jail Administrator Katrina Thompson, were symbols of the varied paths women can forge within law enforcement. Their participation was, in itself, a statement on the growing role that women hold in areas traditionally dominated by men.
