Yesterday, Southeast Baltimore became the site of a police investigation following an explosion near a Home Depot on the 6300 block of Eastern Avenue. According to FOX Baltimore, officers responded to the incident around 2 p.m., initiating a search for both a suspect and victims who had fled the scene before the authorities' arrival. Baltimore Police Department's Bomb Squad and Arson investigators were joined in their investigation by federal agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Baltimore City Fire Department. Despite the chaos, no injuries were reported.

According to CBS News Baltimore, the incident caused a significant disruption in the area's routine, notably impacting a nearby Wendy's restaurant. The restaurant's manager, Roshade, described the scene as "chaotic" and shared that the establishment had been asked to submit its security footage to the police, who indicated that the male suspect had been near the drive-thru before leaving the area. Roshade mentioned that police went through their drive-thru for reasons still unknown, "Then they went through our drive-thru. Still don't know why they did that one," he explained. The sense of unease led to the temporary closure of Wendy's, although it reopened later that evening at 7 p.m., around the same time the authorities cleared the scene.

The nature of the device detonated has not been specified, and at this stage, no arrests have been made. WBALTV relayed the statement from the FBI's Baltimore Field Office, which confirmed their awareness of the incident and ongoing communication with law enforcement.
