In what could be described as a swift response, Springfield Police made three arrests last Sunday following a robbery incident. The arrests included a suspect already familiar with law enforcement due to prior charges. The trio was apprehended after allegedly committing an unarmed robbery and engaging in drug-related offenses, according to a report from the Springfield Police Department.
The incident took place at around 5:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of Parker Street, when two vehicles were involved in a collision and subsequently pulled into a parking lot. There, the victim reported that he was robbed by the occupants of the other vehicle, as detailed in a Springfield Police report. It was approximately an hour later that an officer located the suspects' vehicle near the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, initiating a traffic stop on Penncastle Street.
The individuals detained included Randy Perez-Coiscou, Randall Davis, and Mohamed Hussein. All three faced charges related to the robbery and possession with intent to distribute a Class D Drug. Notably, Perez-Coiscou was already under investigation for previous drug and firearms charges from an incident in April the prior year.
Among the charges, 22-year-old Perez-Coiscou is facing accusations of unarmed robbery and leaving the scene of a property damage crash, along with the drug-related counts. Davis, 20, and Hussein, 18, face similar charges with their involvement in both the robbery and drug conspiracy, aligned with evidence recovered inside the car, which included stolen items and marijuana prepared for distribution. The stolen cash was also reclaimed from Perez-Coiscou, who along with his associates, was positively identified in connection with the crimes.
