Tuesday and Wednesday, days marked by a substantial likelihood of showers and thunderstorms, maintain the trend with respective high temperatures hovering near 80 and 76 degrees, not forgetting that the chance of precipitation on these days remains steadfastly pegged at 70 and 80 percent, respectively.
Later in the week, the NWS forecast suggests a continuation of wet weather with an 80% likelihood of showers and possibly a thunderstorm both Thursday and its subsequent night, then a slight reprieve is expected with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1am on Thursday night; however, the skies will clear up as we approach the weekend, promising sunny conditions and highs in the mid-70s on Friday and Saturday.
In the realm of potential severe weather, the National Weather Service's Hazardous Weather Outlook indicates a slight chance of thunderstorms across various parts of central and southeast Missouri today moving into northeast Missouri and west central Illinois late tonight, and while Monday to Thursday night also herald chances for thunderstorms, late Monday night and Tuesday afternoon and evening could see a few strong to severe storms develop, "There is a chance of thunderstorms over parts of the area Monday through Thursday night," the outlook reads, "A few thunderstorms could be strong to severe late Monday night and Tuesday afternoon and evening," however, no spotter activation is presently anticipated at this time.
