Last night's escapade involving a band of dirt bike riders tearing through St. Louis streets ended with police seizing vehicles and making arrests. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department shared an update detailing the events where officers were initially unable to stop the dirt bikers, who continued to drive recklessly after fleeing from attempted traffic stops.
The trouble began when a large group flouted traffic laws, weaving through the city and running multiple red lights. Police, in their attempt to intervene, were eluded by the riders who chose to hastily escape rather than engage with law enforcement. One rider even had the audacity to load his vehicle back onto his Toyota FJ Cruiser before hastily taking off when the police arrived.
Strategically positioning themselves, the officers managed to apprehend two individuals and confiscate both the FJ Cruiser and two dirt bikes. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's Facebook post made it clear: "We will not tolerate this type of behavior." The message was direct, underscoring the department's determination to curb such incidents that threaten public safety.
An ongoing investigation seeks to hold all participants accountable. The department has urged the public to maintain vigilance, echoing the "See something? Say something." mantra and reminding to always call 911 in case of witnessing similar incidents.
