A St. Tammany man, aged 22, has received a sentence for his crimes tied to drug trafficking, in particular for dealing in fentanyl, a powerful and often deadly synthetic opioid. He was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment along with a 4-year term of supervised release and a mandated special assessment fee of $400, as handed down by US District Judge Carl J. Barbier on April 10, 2025, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
As per court documents cited in the same press release, the individual, identified as JORDAN, engaged in selling at least 40 grams of fentanyl to an undercover trooper from the Louisiana State Police across three separate occasions in August and September 2023, and following these transactions, a search warrant was executed at JORDAN'S Covington residence on September 28, 2023, during which approximately 101 grams of fentanyl were seized by authorities.
The indictment JORDAN faced totaled four counts — all associated with the trafficking and possession of illegal drugs — to which he entered a guilty plea, the consequences of his admissions of guilt culminating in the sentence issued by Judge Barbier. The case against JORDAN was brought to light and advanced through an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations along with the Louisiana State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Briana Williams of the Narcotics Unit led the prosecution.
