Two individuals found themselves in cuffs following a recent sting operation by local and federal law enforcement in White Settlement. The sting, which took place at a nondescript motel along the I.H. 30 service road, unearthed a cache of illicit substances and a weapon. The White Settlement Police Department, in a social media post, detailed the event that brought fentanyl pills and powder, methamphetamine, a firearm, and drug paraphernalia into the hands of the authorities.
As part of the bust, officers arrested one individual on the charge of "Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1B >=4G<200G and Unlawfully Carrying of a Weapon." The second individual was arrested for outstanding warrants that had been waiting to catch up with them. According to the White Settlement Police Department, these arrests are part of a broader effort to clamp down on properties distributing illegal drugs and firearms.
The Drug Enforcement Administration's Fort Worth Division provided much-needed support for this operation, working in conjunction with a Task Force Officer to orchestrate the sting. The partnership between federal and local law enforcement underscores the gravity with which fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that has fueled a nationwide crisis, is being combated.
