The Folsom Police Department has made headway in a recent spate of vehicle burglaries with the arrest of a suspect following a well-coordinated investigation. On a post on their official Facebook page, authorities reported the apprehension of one Darius Huerta, 37, in connection with vehicle break-ins that occurred last Friday.

After victims reported the burglaries, it was discovered that stolen credit cards were being utilized in multiple businesses around Sacramento County. Folsom's Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) Unit pounced on the case, collaborating with local businesses to review surveillance footage. Clues gleaned from the security tapes led the officers to identify both the suspect and their vehicle, the latter being a critical piece of evidence that was missing initially.

The POP Unit pinpointed the vehicle's location to Tributary Lane in Gold River, establishing surveillance in the area. Following a meticulous stakeout, Huerta was "safely arrested without incident," according to the Folsom Police Department's social media post. Officers recovered multiple items of the alleged stolen property.

Huerta is now facing numerous charges, including burglary and identity theft. He was taken to the Sacramento County Main Jail, with a bust that marked a win for the Folsom Police and their drive to combat property crime in the community. In the Facebook update, the Folsom Police Department reminded residents to "always lock their vehicles and remove all valuables, especially overnight," a safety measure that can help deter thefts even as they continue to pursue perpetrators with tenacity.
