On Wednesday, a significant fire engulfed a barn in Jamestown Township, prompting a response from six different fire departments. The emergency call leading these crews to the 1300 block of Greenly Street occurred at around seven in the morning, as reported by FOX 17. The collaborative effort included teams from Georgetown, Hudsonville, Salem, Zeeland Township, and Byron Township fire departments.
The intense blaze was brought under control within a few hours, yet firefighters remained on-site through half past noon to ensure all lingering hot spots were extinguished. Despite the early hour, the response was prompt and coordinated.
A social media update by the Jamestown Township Fire Department reflected this sentiment, stating, "We extend our gratitude to the assisting departments for their support; Byron Township Fire Department , Zeeland Township Fire Department , Hudsonville Fire Department, Georgetown Fire Department, Salem Fire Department and Ottawa County Canteen members who brought out food, drinks and hot coffee for the firefighters."
