Tragedy struck on Tuesday morning when a 15-year-old boy was severely injured in a gang-related stabbing at a Santa Rosa bus stop. According to a social media post from the Santa Rosa Police Department, the attack occurred at around 8:20 am at Boyd Street and Hickory Circle, where the victim and his friend, also 15, were confronted by a group of male suspects who arrived in a stolen vehicle and began threatening them with gang-related challenges.

The suspects attempted to rob the teenagers and brandished knives, as per the Santa Rosa Police statement. A struggle ensued, leading to the victim being stabbed, which resulted in him collapsing from his injuries as officers arrived. He had sustained life-threatening wounds, including a puncture to his chest and lacerations to his wrist, head, and neck. First aid was administered on the scene before the victim was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

Witness descriptions and a license plate number allowed the authorities to track the suspects. A SRPD Gang Crimes Team detective located the getaway vehicle abandoned in the 2900 block of Bay Village Circle. Surveillance was conducted before three males were seen exiting an apartment and getting into the vehicle. When confronted by officers, their attempt to flee was short-lived. One suspect was apprehended after a foot chase, and another was detained following the deployment of an Electronic Control Device by an officer, which was effective on the second attempt.

All four juvenile suspects, hailing from Santa Rosa and one from Sonoma, have been taken into custody and booked into Juvenile Hall on charges that include attempted murder, robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, and gang enhancement. Santa Rosa Police confirmed the recovery of knives from the suspects, with one juvenile found carrying three folding knives at the time of arrest. Despite the clear gang affiliations of the assailants, police have found no evidence to suggest that either of the victims is involved in gang activity.

The Santa Rosa Police have not released the suspects' names as they are minors. The second victim of the attempted robbery did not suffer physical harm during the incident.
