Two individuals sustained injuries in the incident that occurred along the busy stretch of highway, compelling emergency responses that included the El Paso Fire Department's specialized helicopter service.
The accident, which happened near the intersection of I-10 West and Paisano, shut down all westbound lanes, as reported by KVIA, which also noted that one person was treated for minor injuries and another for severe, life-threatening injuries, with the latter being transported using Fire Star, the city's aerial emergency service. The time of the accident was approximately 4 pm The El Paso Police have not provided additional details regarding the cause of the crash or the identities of those injured as investigations continue.
A representative from the El Paso Fire Department was quoted by KTSM, stating that "one person was transported via helicopter, while another person was transported Code 1 (minor) via ambulance." The level of medical attention required for each individual indicated the differing severity of the injuries sustained.
