A 13-year-old girl in Ingham County took her mother's car for a spin, which ended with the vehicle embedded in a local residence. Reports from MLive and other local news outlets detailed the incident at approximately 12:30 p.m. yesterday in the 400 block of Rexford Avenue in Delhi Charter Township.
The Ingham County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene after the crash, only to find that the driver and potential witnesses had fled. The search did not last long. The car was later discovered at a nearby apartment complex. According to a statement detailed by WNEM, the young driver had allegedly taken the vehicle without the knowledge or consent of her mother.
Alongside the underage driver, three other unidentified minors were also in the car at the time of the crash. While the house sustained serious structural harm, the sheriff's deputies reported no physical injuries as a consequence of the accident.
