In what could have escalated into a dire scenario, the Vallejo Police Department swiftly apprehended an individual during a traffic stop yesterday. Officers from the Patrol Division noticed a black Chevrolet Tahoe lacking a front California license plate, prompting them to initiate a stop, according to a social media post from the Vallejo Police Department.
The driver of the Tahoe displayed clear signs of intoxication upon interaction with the officers. Adding to the situation's complexities, it surfaced that the driver was already wanted on a DUI warrant from Orange County. With body armor concealed under his attire, the man was extracted from the vehicle, revealing the presence of a Glock 17 with an extended magazine holstered at his side. Despite not having a front license plate visible, Vallejo police officers meticulously searched the driver's vehicle.
The subsequent search led to the confiscation of the driver's body armor, firearm, and high-capacity magazines, which were promptly taken into evidence. At the same time, the Tahoe itself was towed from the scene. As a result of the traffic stop, the driver faced booking into the Solano County Jail on multiple charges that included DUI and possession of a firearm.
