The Wake Forest Town Hall along with various administrative offices will shut down on Friday, as the community observes Good Friday. According to a recent announcement by the Town of Wake Forest, the closure will not impact the curbside trash and recycling services, which will continue as scheduled. Residents should, however, note that yard waste collection will not take place.
In a move to accommodate the non-collection day, yard waste pickup that would normally occur on Good Friday has been rescheduled earlier in the week. "During the week of April 14, the collection of all yard waste routes, including Friday’s route, will occur Monday-Thursday, April 14-17," stated the Town of Wake Forest. Residents were required to roll their yard waste to the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday to ensure the revised schedule ran smoothly, without any glitches, and that all areas received service.
Public transportation seems to be unaffected by the Good Friday closings as well. The announcement indicated that both Go Wake Forest and the Wake Forest-Raleigh Express routes will be operational on Friday. The Town offices are scheduled to resume normal operations on the following Monday, opening their doors at 8 a.m.
For individuals looking to keep abreast of waste collection updates, Wake Forest encourages signing up for the “Waste Wizard”. This interactive tool not only sends collection reminders directly to the user but also allows for downloading the waste collection schedule. The “Waste Wizard” is accessible on the Town website and is also integrated into the Town of Wake Forest app, under “Solid Waste Resources”.
